Optional Web-based Interface

Document Locator can provide secure, remote access to information held on-site at your location via two optional Web access solutions: the optional WebTools Module and the optional WebView Module.

• WebTools
  WebTools supports employees, vendors, and customers outside the office who need to fully participate in the collaboration and creation of documents. WebTools provides nearly all the Document Locator features and capabilities of the desktop client via a Web interface that is similar in appearance. Users can modify and check in documents, participate in workflows, send and receive notifications, and more.
• WebView
  WebView is useful for people outside the office who consume information and will simply be viewing or retrieving documents but not collaborating or participating in their development. Through an intuitive Web interface, WebView users can search and retrieve documents on a self-service basis, and receive notifications.

The optional Web interface can provide "outside-the-firewall" access to the document management system. Users can search and retrieve documents from any location using an Internet connection. Unlike a hosted solution, repositories stay on-site so you always maintain full control over information. You decide who has what level of access, and to which information.

• Provides secure document access for employees working remotely, or external partners, customers or vendors.
• Allows users outside the company to participate in workflow procedures.
• Offers the familiar Microsoft Windows tree-view navigation to repository folders and documents.
• Supported on Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6 and higher) and on Firefox (version 2 and higher).
• Can provide most of the functionality of the client software. Certain features and functions are available via the client software only.
